A: Yes. Each machine must be network connected, and your network must have the ability to access external websites (like this one).
A: No. IF the MFP is not connected to the network the device can not communicate with the software. typically with non connected devices we require manual reading or utilize a flat rate contractual obligation that doesn't require meters to be turned in.
